Samukelisiwe Phakathwayo - DST/NRF Science Communication Intern 2014/15

Samukelisiwe is a former SAEON: Science Communication Intern for the financial year 2014/15, and was placed under Science Education Outreach.

Samukelisiwe is from Scottsburg in KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. She has completed her studies at the University of Zululand and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2013.

“The Internship programme was a major learning experience for me and made me a professional woman I am today. I am really grateful for the opportunity I had. The hands-on experience and exposure I got made me ready for the challenging world out there.” Her interests are creative writting, socialising, reading, playing music, learning about animals and nature. She also loves adventurous trips and camping. Her biggest interest is that she loves God.
