Mpho Makwarela - DST/NRF Science Communication Intern 2013/14
Mpho completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science at the University of Limpopo in 2012. He was then offered an internship opportunity from DST/NRF internship programme with SAEON as the host Institution from the 1st of April 2013 - 31 March 2014.
He was involved in Science Education Outreach business unit within SAEON, besides being under education outreach, he also learned how other business units operate within the organisation; business units such as HR, Finance, Procurement and general administration duties.
Being part of the SAEON education outreach team was an honour, education is one of SAEON strong pillar within the organisation, with my experience it is not only SAEON strong pillar but the whole world. As a communicator in education outreach he used to share with young and old people what SAEON is all about which includes all that is carried on within SAEON nodes across the country.
Mpho likes reading and writing, more specifically on topics like politics, business, sports and entertainment.
