Indibano

Every year the Graduate Student Network (GSN) of the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON)  organises a conference named the Indibano. The Indibano serves as both a conference and a workshop, providing an opportunity for post-graduate members of the GSN to network amongst themselves and amongst leading researchers in a wide diversity of scientific and social fields. GSN members are invited annually to submit an abstract of their work and stand a chance to be invited for the Indibano while attendance expenses are fully covered by SAEON. Every year a different venue in South Africa is chosen to host the Indibano. The four-day programme consists of student talks, expert talks, a workshop and an excursion of interest in the area.
The Indibano is offered by the GSN SAEON to build and promote the sustainability and academic excellence of long term environmental research amongst post-graduate students in South Africa through interactions with SAEON.
